Thierry Eliez started playing the piano when he was 6. He plays mainly classical music for 10 years. However, he is interested in all styles of music and forms his first jazz trio at 17.
In 1986, he was hired by Didier LOCKWOOD for a tour of two years. Then, in 1989, at the age of 25 he founded with Andre CECCARELLI and Jean-Marc JAFFET the "CECCARELLI trio". Three albums were born of this encounter : "Dansez sur moi", "Hat Snatcher" ("victoire de la musique", 1992), "3 Around the 4" (jazz version of The Beatles).
In the early 90s, André CECCARELLI, with whom he played for 5 years, highly recommended him to DeeDee BRIDGEWATER. DeeDee hired Thierry, and together they begin a great musical adventure full of complicity that will last 14 years. They recorded four albums together: "Keeping Tradition", "Love and Peace" (a tribute to Horace SILVER), "This Is New" (tribute to Kurt Weill) and "Live at Yoshi's" (recorded live in the USA).
